A few weekends ago, Miss P and I attended the Lady of Fatima Mass at our church. It has become our tradition of attending on a Saturday evening in June. She and I went out to dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants and then we walked over to the church. The first time she and I attended, I was absolutely awe-struck at the beautiful Portuguese words sung. A majority of the mass is sung in Portuguese. I am not Portuguese, and have no idea what they are singing, but I can attest that it is breathtakingly beautiful. Every year I cry.

After the mass, Mother Mary sits on a bed of flowers and is carried throughout the borough. Prayers are spoken and hymns are sung in Portuguese and in English. Miss P and I love this part. The candle-light procession is amazing.

That same weekend, Miss P competed at a Feis and knocked it out of the park. This was the first time she competed in the prizewinner category, and she had such poise and confidence. She loved it. I still marvel at her ability to go out there and just do it. I hope she never wains in her confidence and in her humbleness.

This sweet little being has kept it real for me and taught me the true blessings in life.

Someone got a haircut!

Deserted beach before all the tourists and town families off from school enjoy the shore.
