Black and White with a dose of Green

It is so strange to look back at pictures from the beginning of construction and see how quickly we actually built this home.

The exterior portion of the house has gone through some major work. It has been a work in progress for months, and we are far from finished in terms of the back yard, but the over all look is basically complete. I want to add more boxwoods in the front next spring and build a stonewall in front of the property alongside the street. All of these things can slowly evolve. This is what the home looked like late spring. We added a privacy fence, finished the trim and planted seed.

This is what it looks like now. I love how the garage doors pop with everything else being stark white. The doors originally came white. It was impossible to find already black exterior garage doors. I searched forever. We decided to have them professionally painted black. Best decision ever. I added three black barn lights above them too stand out against the white siding.

It has been nice to not have the endless tracking of dirt in the house. Clean and simple.

Onto the next project!

  1. Your house is beautiful. I love those garage doors…..the color and style with those gooseneck lights. Stunning. Is your front door black too? I am still in construction stage. Grass is a long way off. Your rock work is really beautiful too. 🙂
