HomeGoods Visit

I am telling you HomeGoods can have some jewels every now and then. The one closest to me is ok. I think it has a lot of the cast offs of the better locations further out from me. I run to the closest store if I need something basic. The best location is about 30 minutes away, and when I have time, I take the drive to that one instead.

This mid-century inspired sofa was there a few weeks ago. Do you see those legs? Retail was over $3000, but the HomeGoods price was $1100. What a steal. I went there last week and it was still there. This lady was looking at it the first time I saw it and remarked to me as I was staring at it, that it would never sell in the conservative location, but in a more urban area it would sell in a minute. I totally agreed.  I like how there is more of a mix now, mid-century pieces scattered, industrial, traditional. It is becoming more representative of the informed buyer.

I cannot wait to see what they add to the mix at my next visit.

Homegoods

Here is what caught my eye a few weeks ago when I stopped into Homegoods. I left empty handed, was really just buying time as a thunderstorm and downpour was overhead.

I really liked the raised detail on the lamp. The textured shade was pretty unique as well.

There was chevron everywhere I looked. It was a bit too much overload on the sensory circuit.

I always thought having a loop behind the chair would be a great idea, so that the fabric would remain clean as you pulled the chair out from the table.

Mid century with a twist.

Homegoods Field Trip

Homegoods does it again. If I bought every thing I loved there, I would have a basement full of chairs and lamps. Here is what I spotted this visit.

More Ikat obsession. I wish it was a bit larger and had arms.  Tucked away in a corner.

Are you serious? $45? I actually went back for this for Miss P’s room. It was gone. No surprise there. I found another one for her, similar style and is was also heavily marked down.

I think this was only $50! Or something close to it. It was very heavy. Perfect in a kitchen or even as a bar cart.

Sparkle and black. There was only one. If there were two, I would have swooped them up.

A day before Christmas Eve, I ran into Homegoods very late to get a punch bowl. This amazing fabric caught my eye. I thought it would be perfect in the family room as a coffee table. I was this close to putting it in my car. I wish I bought it. Oh well. And it was on sale sale.  Like less than $75. Oh well….move on….move on.

HomeGoods

I have found some pretty stellar things at HomeGoods. I hadn’t been there in months and had 15 minutes to waste while I was in between appointments. I decided to forget the ice cream cone stop at Friendly’s and take a look at what HomeGoods had instead.

I love chairs. I have discussed this at length on thehouseoftrue. The picture shows the frame as being white, but in reality it was more of a cream. Ikat fabric had me from across the store. I was picturing this in the corner of Miss P’s new room. For $299, it was seriously a steal. I saw a similar version online for three times as much.

The tufted back was so pretty. But for me it was the nailhead trim. AWESOME. This isn’t my normal mid-century style that I am drawn to, but this chair was so comfortable. The price point could not be beat.

I am kicking myself that I did not purchase this side table. It was heavy. The mirrored details were cool. For $99, it should have been in my cart. But, I moved past.

These lamps were so incredibly heavy. They were pricey. Out of my price range, but I could see them in my living room that I never sit in. HA

My time was up, and I had to move on. I left empty-handed, but pretty happy with all the cool eye candy.
